Burlington is a beautiful college town, right on the shore of massive Lake Champlain and not too far from the Canadian border.
One of the best ways to see the foliage color is to soar over the area.
Sugerbush ski area become a soaring Mecah during the off ski season. You can drive up to the club an get taken for a ride :)
The Long Trail is a hiking trail that runs the full length of the Green Mountains north to south from Massachusetts to Canada. It runs up all of Vermonts tallest mountains.
Visit the Lodge and the grounds. They have there own cemetary plot Where those who inspired THE MOVIE 'the Sound of Music' are buried ( see picture.)
Here is a view of the Vermont State Capitol located in (of course) the capital Montpelier, which is the smallest capital city of the USA...something like 10000 inhabitants...!
Great beer! Some of the beers they make are the Copper Ale, Stovepipe Porter, and Pale Ale. They have a free guided tour around the brewery with taste testing.
