This is a great place to pitch up to after a day of walking around and shopping in Old Alexandria. They serve authentic Spanish tapas and meals, to include about 7 variations on paella. They have a few outdoor tables on King street to foster that European ambiance. Also, they have live Spanish entertainment from time to time. After dinner, you can head across the road to a great Irish pub called Murphy's.
I really enjoyed the chorizo tapas. They do it with an apple-based sauce which kind of threw me at first but really impressed me when I started into the dish. Also, any paella on the menu is phenominal.

Fabulous Spanish restaurant with authentic cuisine. The variety of choices on the menu is spectacular (until the waiter/waitress asks you what you would like to order). Try the tapas. You get the best of everything. They also have Authentic Flamenco performances every Tuesday and Thursday, Spanish guitar music every Wendesday, Friday, and Saturday.
Definitely the variety you get by ordering Tapas. But the vegetarian paella was delicious. The Los Tios Grill is some of the best food I’ve had in this area. Located in the Del Ray neighborhood, Los Tios serves Tex-Mex and Salvadorean cuisine. On our first trip to the restaurant we dined on a Salvadorean steak dish and a chicken enchilada, accompanied by sangria. Everything was excellent and the service was great. Prices were very reasonable, including the drinks. Parking is available on the street. Hours: Sun - Thurs: 11:00am – 10:00pm Fri – Sat: 11:00am – 11:00pm Lunch: 11:00am - 3:00pm

A family run restaurant specializing in veal, seafood, chicken and pasta dishes. The staff is very attentive, the food is awesome and the atmoshpere is truly a feeling of being at home.
Warm bread with butter is the start of your gastronomic experience. For dinner, I ordered the Valdostana (a large breaded veal chop stuffed with ham and swiss cheese in a lemon wine sauce accompanied by spaghetti in meat sauce). To go along with the meal, we ordered a bottle of Merlot (2001 Furlan/Castelcosa). Panera Bread bakery-cafes delivers fresh, authentic artisan bread.
I had the soup and sandwich combo...Pepperblue Steak Sandwich (tender, slow-roasted steak filets with bold gorgonzola roasted red pepper sauce, nestled with lettuce, tomatoes and onions between two slices of freshly toasted Ciabatta Bread) and Baked Potato Soup (home-style cuts of russet potato simmered with select seasonings and smoked bacon in a rich cream sauce flavored with spring onion and snipped chives). I've also sampled the Asian Sesame Chicken Salad (grilled chicken tossed with romaine lettuce, fresh cilantro, sliced almonds, sesame seeds, crispy wonton strips and Asian sesame vinaigrette). People come from all over the country to eat bar-b-que and enjoy the blues. From the beginning, the bar-b-que has been authentic, using hickory logs, low temperatures and long cooking times with only top quality meats and ingredients.
For lunch, I had the Beef Brisket Sandwich (slices of tender, hickory-smoked, seasoned beef brisket topped with cole slaw and Mojo Mild BBQ sauce on top) with along potato salad and sliced pickle. For dinner, I had the 1/2 slab St. Louis Baby Back Ribs Platter (dry rub ribs with cole slaw, hush puppies and sweet tea). The Stardust Café was one of my favorite stops of our six week tour across America. We had the Angus Beef Flank steak in a rice wine sauce It was about $24 It was very good. This quaint little cafe was filled with memorabilia from the 5O’s. There are knickknacks everywhere, including many household appliances like coffee percolators, fans and toasters. The owner, Avery Kincaid is creative and one of the most friendly persons you will ever meet. she told us all about her establishment. She pointed out where Davy Jones, of the Monkees, sat. She even gave me a picture of her and Marianne from Gilligans Island. Al and Tipper Gore eat there and most of George Bush’s Cabinet. She even showed us the room were they meet. Several senators also eat there This was a real blast!

Good Greek food. Great atmosphere. Sit outside when the weather is nice and enjoy a few glasses of red wine and order one of the dishes that they flame cook at your tableside.

The Tiffany Tavern has become one of my favorite spots in Old Town. It’s appearance is easy to disregard, from the outside it doesn’t look like much. Inside, however, is a small bar and restaurant with a great atmosphere. On tap you’ll find Yuengling Lager only, which is fine by me, its brewed 20 minutes from my home town and a long-time favorite. Wine and liquor is available for drinks. The menu is fairly simple and the kitchen is known for great burgers. The staff is friendly and service is quick, even on crowded nights. The best part about the Tiffany Tavern is the live music. During the week there is open-mic in the evenings. This ranges from excellent to mediocre to awful, but is always entertaining. Weekend music is bluegrass, which packs the place so get there early. Hours: Monday - Thursday: 5:00pm - 12:00am Friday and Saturday: 5:00pm - 2:00am
