  • A walk around Campus

Virginia Tech has one of the most beautiful and welcoming campuses on the East Coast. Very open and inviting, this campus has matching building material to make every building seem, though some are modern, as if they were all built in the 1800's. The drillfield in the center was a great spot for me to chill out in good weather, and I love to park...

  • Mexican & Seafood

Cabo Fish Taco in downtown Blacksburg is a Mexican/Seafood restaurant. As the name implies, their speciality is fish tacos. We stopped here for dinner as a group after hiking in Jefferson National Forest and had a good experience. I'm not a big fan of seafood, so I had the chicken wrap and it was pretty good and quite large. I was hungry so I...

When I lived in Blacksburg, I used to spend countless hours at Mill Mountain. They have excellent coffee and tea and baked goods. Sunday mornings when school wasn't in session were my favourite times- all locals in a quiet, friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Then tend to have friendly and helpful employees as well. Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Bring clothingwith orange and maroon in the color scheme. These are Virginia Tech's school colors, and you will see them everywhere in Blacksburg. It is an unusual color combination that immediately identify you as a Virginia Tech alum/supporter. Don't wear blue and orange - those are the colors of the University of Virginia, Virginia Tech's arch-rival.
