Squashapenny Junction: Everything old is new again
Squashapenny Junction is one of the best-preserved rural stores in Hanover County. Its original run lasted 90 years up until the owner died in 1988. In its heyday, it was a gathering place for people of Doswell and the surrounding areas. It lay abandoned for almost 10 years before a former art teacher bought it at auction and converted it into an authentic antique store as opposed to one selling lesser quality whatnots geared to tourists willing to pay confiscatory prices for them. Not many tourist pass through here. It is not because Doswell is well off the beaten path. Although Squashapenny Junction is...
...two minutes from King's Dominion...
...located directly between Interstate 95 and U.S. 1 just 35-miles (60 km.) south of Fredericksburg, a 20 miles (33 km.) north of Richmond...
...on a busy rail line...
...most folks, in a hurry to get somewhere else, miss the less-traveled road and that suits the new owner just fine.
What to buy: It's hard to sum up what kind of antiques the store offers because it's different every time. The owner shops far and wide for authentic antiques to offer at her store.

International Street: International Street
International Street is where many of the shops and restaurants in the park are located. A fountain divides the street and the Eiffel Tower replica is at the end of it.
