We parked at the Visitors Center on Washington Street right off Main street. The signs to the visitors center are clearly marked. We got of I-64 onto Rt. 11 into Lexington and followed the signs to Visitors Center passing by VMI.
We parked the car there for free and they mapped us walking map of Lexington and off we went. The streets of Lexington are narrow and very lovely.
Cars are an ideal means of transportation. If you don't already have one, I can sell you a clean '87 Skoda dirt cheap.
