Daddy Bim's Barbecue: Lynchburg Best Barbecue offers flavor and service
Modestly tucked away in a discreet location on Old Forrest Road, Daddy Bim's is rapidly gaining a loyal group of regulars from LC as well as from the Lynchburg city community.
Once inside this quaint restaurant it immediately gives you the feeling that you are eating at your favoriate friends house rather than at a restaurant in Lynchburg. The service is excellent. You will never have to wait more than five minutes for your food and everyone is extremely hospitable and will make you feel comfortable even in such a small environment.
The atmosphere is not the only aspect of this restaurant that is appealing; the food is excellent as well
Daddy Bim's Barbecue is definitely a specialty restaurant, which is why the menu is semi-limited, but what it lacks in diversity its makes up for in flavor and service. All of the dishes and soups are homemade while using the very minimum of imported products.
So if you are ever trying to make a decision on what to get for a mid-day snack or a home cooked dinner, take a look at the Daddy Bim's menu.
Favorite Dish: BEST barbecue I've ever had IN MY LIFE! My friend and I had the sandwiches with baked beans and cole slaw and it was AWESOME. This Restaurant is located with one mile of the college so you can go on any afternoons Tue Thru Sat. They will even have take out ready for us (call first) to take back to dorm or sometimes picnic in the dell its great. They even have a student discount which is teriffic. I highly recommend the bourbon chess pie. I love going here the staff is awesome! and both owners graduated from Lynchburg College and its a unique experience that I know you will love. After eating here I was really impressed! 5 STARS

Mi Patron (Airport): Mexican in Lynchburg
We stopped at Mi Patron for dinner as a group of 7 heading back from the mountains. There are several of these restaurants in and around the Lynchburg area - the one that we ate at was on US-29 right by the airport. Overall, it was a good dining experience. We were seated right away and our server was friendly and attentive. She kept our chips and salsa full and brought out some extra spicy salsa for us. I pretty much always get fajitas at Mexican restaurants and the fajitas here didn't disappoint. Our meals were brought out very quickly, which was nice as we had had a long day and were tired. And the prices were very reasonable. We had chosen to eat here because it was on the way home, right off the highway, but it was good enough that I would eat here again next time we're in the area.

Meriwether's Restaurant ...
'American Cuisine for the Casual Gourmet'
Award of Excellence Winner since 1997!' - According to their own website.
A big surprise to us to find such a nice restaurant in Lynchburg, VA.
Ellegant deco and atmosphere, very interesting menu and good quality of food artistically displayed.
You can tell from their sample menu, they do not just serve typical American cuisine (one would expect from that particular area), but also fusion kind of cuisine with interesting recipes.
Favorite Dish: Trio of Soups (I like to try a bit of everything):
- Tomato dill soupe (with parmesan crisp)
- Roasted pepper and crab soup (with fresh cream dolop)
- soup du Jour (soup of the day).
Warm Filo Wrapped Goat Cheese
Sesame Duck Spring Rolls
Teriyaki Marinated Scallops
Pepita crusted catfish
Filo wrapped pesto salmon
Seared duck breast
Main Street Eatery
Though the name is uninspired, the food is quite the opposite. For dinner, I had fresh brook trout stuffed with baby shrimp, along with a spinach salad and rice with buttered pea pods. The menu also includes unique dishes such as German weinerschnitzel, "oven roasted rack of lamb aux fine herbes", almond crusted sea scallops, and tenderloin of veal princess. Prices are steep for a place like Lynchburg, averaging $20 per meal, but the atmosphere was easily the best I saw on Main Street, and the food was great.
Did I mention the dessert tray which included key lime pie, death by chocolate, their chocolate seventh heaven, and about 8 other choices?
The biggest drawback? Be prepared to spend $5 to $7 for a simple side salad!
