Slade's specialises in hamburgers, steak, seafood and chops.

I like the hamburger, well-done and plain (just meat and bun) with a side, not of fries, but of black beans and rice.

    The Trawler Restaurant

The Trawler is a fine seafood restaurant in the little Eastern Shore town of Exmore. Although my boss was paying at this trip, I noticed it was a little pricey. However, the food and service were good, and the portions were plentiful.

Fried shrimp, baked potato and salad.

Kilroy's is an American restaurant with a sport bar type atmosphere. The food is better than average, the service is good and I like the atmosphere too.

    Who's hungry?

Millers is located in Charlottesville Historic Downtown Mall. This outdoor walking mall doesn't seem so big. Maybe I'm a jaded shopper... Anyway we were looking for an outdoor cafe that could fit 13 people. No go. So wound up eating inside the darkened Millers. Pub kind of place. Found out though that Dave Matthews worked here before he hit the big time. ooh...

I had a stuffed baked potato. Which was puny! But at least they used real bacon and not 'bacon bits!' Everyone else liked their sandwich fares. I was the only dissatisfied customer this go round...

Two restaurants that are the most favored in Virginia-- but they will cost you a lot:
    1) Auberge de Francois in Great Falls, and 2) The Inn at Little Washington (pictured here.)
