The Landmark Theater, Richmond
The building's name drew criticism because it looks almost exactly like a Moslem temple. In the 1990s, it had to change its name to the Landmark Theater after much controversy. It was built in the 1920s and took 2 years to build. Imported tile, curtains and paintings were imported from all over and suggest a Middle Eastern theme. There are more than 3500 seats in the building which is used for concerts, theatre performances, and special events. One of those special events was my high school graduation on 12 June 1987. It came up a cloud that evening which put out the lights for 45 minutes, proportionately delaying the ceremony.
Dress Code: It depends on the event.
