This is something the dining scene in Richmond has sorely needed: a different dining experience. In Can Can that is true on the food and atmosphere fronts. They went all out on the interior design with the details to make you think you're in a Paris brasserie. The high ceilings, decorative touches, and lively atmosphere are superb. During the day the room is airy and light. The tables up front by the large pane windows are perfect for a morning cafe au lait and crossaint while you read the paper.
The menu is truly different from the tired contemporary southern dishes seen in just about every recently opened restaurant in town. A great French wine list and a nice 50-foot zinc bar that keeps Can Can open until the wee hours. I can't wait to go back to try other menu items.
