I read some of the previous reviews and all I can saw is that they are completely wrong. The food was so good, service was excellent, management was great, they also came through to check on each table to make sure everyone was happy with the service and food. I also have to say this place is one of the cleanest places we had ever been to. Hopefully we will be in the richmond area soon because will will definitely be dining there again.
Favorite Dish: linguini seafood was what my husband ordered which was amazingly good. I had the Mediterranean pizza that I absolutely could not get enough of.
Decent food....horrible service....the woman at the front desk where you pay is extremely rude, saw roaches while eating there. Not so sure about the sanitation..seems like kitchen is all mexican, if it's authentic italian, why completely mexican kitchen staff. overpriced.wait staff seems miserable and unorganized. I guess all i can say is the food tastes good, but every other aspect of the restaurant is horrible. It even came to the fact that my server was insulted and repromanded in front of my table, which made me very uncomfortable and made my server give us even more extremely lousy service. Maybe the owners need to take a course in business management and employee morale.
Favorite Dish: I guess it would have to be the pizza, the only reason is because i saw it made in front of me and i know that it was ok to eat.that's really it, the alfredo made me extremely sick.
The only bad thing to be said about Carini's is its location in a rather dodgy neighbourhood in the East End of Richmond. Having said that, it is a great restaurant in terms of food, service, and atmosphere. Locating itself in a less-than-distinguished neighbourhood probably enables them to keep prices reasonable due to lower overhead. My friend Lee and I took supper here one night in December. Our waitress named Penny was more than attentive and the food came lickety split. The restaurant's interior was done up like an Italian villa with some of the booths under a facade which resembled a porch on a villa with that type of architecture. Lee thinks so highly of this restaurant he brought along his girlfriend Jessi.
Favorite Dish: Lee and I both shared a pizza (his half had only pepperoni and cheese, mine had onions, tomatoes, and peppers) and we each had a plate of spaghetti and meatballs (the size of boulders). All meals come with homemade bread and butter. When David Karnubawax visited, Lee and I both brought him here on his last night. David had the chicken piccata and Lee and I both had the spaghetti and meatballs.
