Upon entering and being greeted by the hostess, we had high hopes for our dining experience. However, those hopes were quickly dashed by 2 very rude and inattentive bartenders while we waited for our table. Once we were seated, the disaster began! First...the shrimp special was already gone by 7:00. Then we had to ask for our bread. The appetizer took quite a long time to arrive...our meals took twice as long to make it to the table. The hold up?? Our server forgot that she had served us our appetizer and then 20 minutes later stopped and said she kept checking on when our appetizer would be ready...hmmmm.
The food was AWEFUL!!! It worst meal any of us had in years!!! Everything was VERY SALTY and over seasoned! We could have gotten better food from a TV dinner! Steer clear of the um..."meatloaf" (glorified hamburger) and the crab cakes were inedible!
We will never return to this establishment and will tell friends and acquaintances to avoid it as well!
Favorite Dish: The Veggie Po Boy was OK...I guess it's kind of hard to mess up sauteed vegetables.
City Limit is a bistro in Richmond's West End. It is appropriately named because they claim the Richmond city and Henrico County line literally divides the restaurant. The decor is pleasing to the eye with a neon silhouette of the Richmond skyline and the colour scheme is attractive. However, the seats are of hard wood and the loud volume of the music is hard on the ears. Our server was very professional and attentive, but I thought they had to pluck my chicken and catch Paul's hamburger before they came with it.
Favorite Dish: The things on the menu are good, but the selection, even at supper, is very limited. I had the chicken sandwich served together with lettuce, tomato, and a dill pickle spear. I also had the black beans and rice on the side. The chicken was a tad on the dry side, but everything else was good.
