Bodega Brasil, Richmond
I heard of Bodega Brasil quite by accident. I was in the west end on some other errand when I stopped by Bodega Latina on Quioccasin Road to grab a tin of guaraná. I was stunned they didn't have any, but they told me there was a new ethnic market owned by them which sells mainly Brazilian groceries and it was over by the Ipanema Grill restaurant on Gayton Road. That is smart, when you think about it, because folks leaving that Brazilian churrascaria as happy as can be with the meal they have can stroll over a few doors down at the same shopping centre to pick up some Brazilian goodies to take home.
What to buy: Lee bought a 12-pack of guaraná (which I got him into trying when he started coming over my house) and another tin to take then. I bought the Pilão brand of Brazilian coffee. There are lots of other Brazilian food items such as fruit juices, other drinks, the fixins for feijoada, and cheese breads.
