  • G-Force is a BLAST but the check-in process SUCKS

    by ur2cool Written Jan 28, 2012 1 reviews

G-Force is an absolute blast. Our son has been racing there for a couple years and he is a really good racer. The carts are generally very powerful and good handling. It is also a great place to have a birthday party.

    HOWEVER....

In the last 6 months the owner of the place has totally screwed up the check-in and race tracking process. I do not understand what is going on, as it looks like they tried to improve the process by adding PCs to use as a pre-check-in routine, but it FAILS gigantically.

First you have to pre-check-in, then you have to go to the main desk and really check-in, then (even if a member) you have to signs disclaimers every time, and then you have to wait for race assignment.

IT IS A JOKE NOW, and check-in takes about 15 minutes on a regular day. If you get there on a slow day it is faster, but if there on a heavy day you might as well turn around and go home or you will be in line for 30 minutes or more.

G-Force management could fix this easily: (1) PUT A SECOND check-in station on the main desk; (2) Have the existing check-in station handle new racers while the new station handles existing members and racers coming to get their receipts for 2nd and 3rd races; (3) get rid of the dumb pre-check-in process; (4) use the disclaimer that is signed to be a member and stop requiring a new one be signed every time.

We have actually walked out four or five times in the last 6 months. Seriously sad because there are no bigger fans of G-Force than us.

    G Force Karts

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

G Force Karts is an indoor go-cart track, in which you can go and race go-carts with friends. G Force is the only one of its kind in Richmond because for one it is an indoor track, and secondly the carts can get up to like 35 to 40 miles per hour which is pretty fast for a normal go-cart. The price is kind of expensive but it is worth it once you try it. It cost about 20 dollars to race on the track, but once you try it you won't regret it. You get a real rush of energy once out on the track going around at pretty fast speeds racing friends. David and I went and we enjoyed ourselves alot. We ended up doing 2 races, and they give you a discount for doing more than 1 race which is pretty nice. I am also a member there so I get discounted races since I tend to go about once a month.

Equipment: You don't need any equipment because everything is provided for you there.
