Some people say that it is expensive to get into the museum($7 a person) but when you consider all you can do it is very cheap. Kids can do anything from climb in a interactive mouth to being actors/actresses in the playhouse. Other exibits include U-shop which is a mini Ukrops in which children can be cashiers as their parents buy goods from them. There is a apple tree in which children can pick apples and there is a car in which they can drive them home. Other exibits include a kitchen, climbing areas, a cave in which cmor staff give WONDERFUL tours and explanations, there is a water area that resembles the James River, an art studio where there are hundreds of activities that kids can paint,make and take home with them. There are other exibits including an inventors lab where kids use their imaginations to create tall structures and then can even get there picture put on the wall of fame! Trying to beat the summer heat while beating the crowds of a pool? Well come to CMOR and visit the backyard where there are 6 sprinklers in which kids can get wet, water fans that squirt out water and shaded areas in which parents can relax and cool off. There are also HUGE sandboxes with a lot of toys. Are you visiting with kids 3 and under? Come to the museum and visit Little CMOR- an area specifically for children 3 and under, a safe, padded environment with puzzles, books,slides,a mini kitchen, blocks to buld with and much more. Established in 1977 and in it's current location since 2000, CMoR is a great place to take the kids. And it's conveniently located in the same location as the Science Museum of Virginia and the IMAX theater. And there's a McDonald's nearby to boot.
