South Boston Restaurants

Ernie's has been a South Boston institution more than 45 years. Their varied menu and family style atmosphere are popular with both locals and those just passing through. In March, 1991, Ernie's Restaurant burned to the ground, but they rebuilt it almost straightaway in the same convenient location on Route 360 east.

Favorite Dish: Specialties include Brunswick Stew, pork barbecue, barbecue sauce and homemade hush puppies. I prefer the all-you-can eat buffet with barbecue, fried chicken, country style vegetables, and desserts, but their wide ranging menu includes soups & salads, steaks & seafood, pastas, chicken, burgers, sandwiches, kids meals, even fajitas and desserts.
