Live band on the boardwalk: Live music at the beach!
The first night we got there a live band was playing at this nice setup at the end of our Hotel. The band was really good, got the crowd into it, and playing song you knew and liked. They kept it clean due to plenty of children & parents dancing in front of them. Nice thing to do with the kids at night and the dancing would make them tired and sleepy! There is a noise ordinance in this town so they didn't play to late, they stopped around 10:00PM. That is a good time for people watching just after the band stops and the drunks start to try and move. Good Stuff! Any way it's a FREE show. Have fun!

Beach St. USA: Beach St. USA
Every night (at least I think it's every night) Atlantic Ave. of Virginia Beach becomes crowded with artists and musicians, all provided by the city of Virginia Beach. On the day we went, there were also fireworks. It's an exciting place, and it's a good idea to wander down at least 6-7 streets to take in the sights along it.
Beach Street: Its free!
At night from 8pm - midnight, Atlantic Avenue which is the main road behind the boardwalk comes alive with all sorts of entertainment and changes its name from Atlantic Avenue to Beach Street, not sure why that is!
Theres bands, jugglers, actors, puppets, groups, something to suit all ages. Just walk along, its free and watch the next lot of entertainers. They were really great.
The entertainment doesnt run the whole length of Atlantic Avenue, but from 17th to 24th street. This is every night in the summer months.
Dress Code: Just wear what you want.

Edge or The Edge: Beware of underage obnoxiousness @ the Edge Bar
...TERRIBLE! The little place was filled with drunken underage little girls dancing like hoes, acting rowdy and obnoxious, while bumping into the other customers and starting fights. The owner KNEW these under-agers personally, and was on their side after they assaulted a customer coming out the filthy ladies room AND THEN, had the bouncer ask the person who was assaulted by his underage girlfriends to leave. There are letters of complaint going out to county and State officials, as well as the liquor licensing agency.
Dress Code: anything to make you look underage will get you in this place!
7 Martini and Tapas: Stay away from the young immature crowd
This is a beautiful martini and tapas bar with an amazing food and drink selection. It's not just your average martini. There are chocolate martinis, cucumber, and of course a James Bond martini. For you guys it's not just a girl's hangout, wait it is so here's a secret...there are always girls hanging out drinking. :-) you're welcome. No seriously though, great date place and there's a video dj on the weekends after 10 for dancing.
Dress Code: Dressy casual. No special requirements. They trust us :-)

Had a great time
Went there last weekend and had a great time! The bar seemed to be just renovated and the bartender was great. There where alot of girls dancing so we stayed most of the night. This is not a major nightclub, but a fun locals bar.
Venue 112: Lived up to the name "Rockin' Sports Bar"
Killer food for a late-night hotspot. They had a live DJ and the crowd was packed full of locals and good looking people. Whole staff was fun and energetic. Been back three times and it's always the same. This is my new spot to party in VB.
