Parasailing by tpangelinan Try out parasailing at Virginia Beach, man this looks like fun, I to broken for this kind of activity. If you grab the broshures I spoke of in the general tips you will find a lot of place to choose from, I would not want to give any one because they are pretty much a seasonal thing so it's hard to say is they would be in operation year after year. Check the broshures for updated list and prices. Leave a Comment Theme: Extreme Sports

Surfing Rules by tpangelinan For those surfers out there, in Virginia Beach from Memorial Day through Labor Day surfers must go down to South Beach ( the southern end of the boardwalk) for surfing. No swimming where the surfers are an no surfing where the swimmers are, make sence to me! Leave a Comment Theme: Surfing

Extreme Surfer by tpangelinan I have never seen any thing like this before, I just had to get a picture. Who thought this up? A surfboard rack for your bicycle. You gotta give the man credit for putting some thought into how can I get me and my board all the way down to the surf beach? Well I would say he worked it out and should sell the idea! Joe and Gareth outside Hells Point Golf Club by bugalugs Our son Joe and his friend Gareth who came with us are both keen on golf and had read about this area having many gold courses. So this was a real must to play at an american golf course. We did phone a couple of days before hand just to make sure that they would be able to play and there was no problem. What did tickle them was when driving the golf buggy there is a radio system, which asked them if they wanted food/drink delivering to them!!!! There is a shop where all sorts of golfing equipment/clothes/souvenirs etc are sold. Also a restaurant where they had something to eat after their game until we picked them up. They had a great time and said they would thoroughly recommend it, and the people were very helpful and friendly.
The price which I think was about $40 each included their hire of golf equipment and also a golf buggy which they thought amazing never having used one before. However they did take their own golf shoes and appropriate clothes as golf clubs are quite stringent on the dress code of golfers. Volleyball on the beach! by tpangelinan Virginia Beach has several volleyball nets up and ready for play, so grab your friends and have a ball. The beach is clean so the worst you may get would be a brush burn or a jammed thumb, so just go have fun. Leave a Comment Theme: Beach Activities

My wife and I vacationed in Virginia Beach the last week of June, 2006. Overall, Virginia Beach is a fun town, but whaterver you do, stay away from the Virginia Beach Fishing Pier on 15th ST. The Virginia Beach Fishing Pier: the fishing wasn't that good, the customer service was despicable and the price is outrageous! I spent $32.00 for 3 1/2 hours of pier fishing and caught 4 small fish, and thats not the worst of it... While on The Virginia Beach Fishing Pier, I was confronted and publicly berrated by the parking lot attendant who claimed that I owed an additional $8.00 for parking because my wife decided not to fish. Here are the brilliant policies of The Virginia Beach Fishing Pier: If 2 or more people are fishing, parking in their lot is $2, but if only one person is fishing on The Virginia Beach Fishing Pier, it is $10 to park on their lot? It then costs $8.00 per person to go onto The Virginia Beach Fishing Pier, to fish, and $2.00 just to walk onto The Virginia Beach Fishing Pier to spectate. So for instance, if youre wife goes with you to watch it will cost you $20.00 plus whatever you spend in their bait and tackle shop. If you both go to fish, it will cost you $18.00 plus whatever you spend in the bait/takle shop... Is this absurd or what? Someone please help these people at The Virginia Beach Fishing Pier. There's are several places you can go to for a nice run. The oceanfront boardwalk (take I-264E all the way down) is about 5 miles if you run up and down the entire length. Mount Trashmore (immediately off to the left after getting off Independece exit towards Princess Anne off of I-264) is a nice short run (~2 miles, if even) around a lake and hill. Seashore State Park (off of Shore Dr.) stretches several miles in shade. You have to pay to get in by car, but there are places you can park off the corner of Great Neck and Shore Dr. and catch a side trail that leads into the park. Leave a Comment Theme: Other

Harbor Park, Norfolk, VA by Winch In neighboring Norfolk, you'll find the Tides on many warm summer nights. The home of the top farm club of the Baltimore Orioles, Harbor Park is a first-rate minor-league stadium seating just over 12,000. Tickets are $10 or less, not a bad deal for International League ball. Not many bad seats, either, in this 1960's-vintage stadium. The ballpark food is extensive, mostly delicious and relatively cheap, and you'll find a great selection of moderately priced beers. A smoking area/picnic plaza offers great views along the left field line. And, with a game ticket, you may also visit Hits-at-the-Park, a full service air-conditioned restaurant overlooking right field.
You'll need a baseball cap, sunscreen (for day games), and a program.
