Favorite thing: Adams Morgan is a diverse community of cool cafes, loud bars, late-nite diners, and unique houses all jumbled together like a third-world Manhattan (or maybe a first-world Bangkok!). During the day, the Adams Morgan area is full of quaint, narrow streets, people walking dogs, and busy cafes. After dark this area is packed full of people drinking and partying until about 3am when most of the bars close. Here you will find live music, quiet lounges, pool, and everything in between. The bars include Madam's Organ, Tom Tom, Brass Monkey, and dozens of others.

In 2004 the Project for Public Spaces named Adams Morgan the 20th best neighborhood in North America!

Adams Morgan covers the area around the intersection of 18th Street and Columbia Street.

Fondest memory: I could not resist taking a snap of this obvious (and obscene) play on words for the name of the Adams Morgan "district within the District". Aside from a humourous note, my research reveals that it is a jazz place that serves soul food. The prices are reasonable enough that I might want to stop here for supper one night and take in the full flavour of Madam's Organ in Adams Morgan, converting this from a general tip to a restaurant and/or nightlife tip.

Walk around the Tidal Basin. I wish I had some photos of the Spring Cherry Blossoms. It is just like a fairy tale setting; I can't put into words how truly pretty it is. You just have to be lucky enought to 'catch it.' Sometimes it seems they blossom, peak and BAM it's over - in a matter of 24 - 48 hours - if the winds are real high. GOOD LUCK!

Fondest memory: What I miss the most is Adams Morgan. Funky little neighborhood that was eclectic mix of funky, new, old, ethnic, hip, and cluttered. Filled with old charm, new clubs, African restaurants and quick, decent central American cafes. Don't know what its like these days, though. It's been a while.

Favorite thing: I love to walk up Connecticut Avenue from Dupont Circle to Colombia Road where the Adams Morgan neighborhood begins. There are so many ethnic restaurants there, it is hard to decide what to eat. Ethiopian, Thai, Salvadoran, Italian, Brazilian, Vietnamese and other interesting places to eat. DC is most beautiful in the Fall (Autumn) and Spring. And no trip is complete without a visit to the Smithsonian museums on the Mall.

Fondest memory: DC has many distinct neighborhoods, each with its on shops, flavor, people and things to do. Having lived there for seven years, I miss my friends the most. I also miss the ease of living in a city without a car. I could get to most places by Metro (subway), bus, walking or if pressed for time, taxi (my least favorite mode of trasportation). I always like to go to a coffee shop, bakery or Vie de France for one of the tastiest sandwhiches and chocolate chip cookies!
