Favorite thing: visit another national memorial, the THOMAS JEFFERSON MEMORIAL located at: South Bank on the Tidal Basin in East Potomac Park. This Memorial honors another great charismatic American leader, the third President of the United States - Thomas Jefferson. Don't miss out on this attraction.
Favorite thing:
The Jefferson Memorial.
The Jefferson is a beautiful memorial sited along the Tidal Basin, completing the southern leg of a cross formed by the Capitol Bldg at the east, Linclon Memorial at the west, White House to the north and this buildnig to the south.
The Potomac River runs north and south immediately west and adjacent to the Linclon, and is within sight of the Jefferson. Cherry blossoms are strategically planted around the five ten acre pool in front of the Memorial, forming one of the most spectacular and memorable sights ever experienced.
Favorite thing: See the cherry blossoms if you plan a Springtime visit. The trees are concentrated around the Tidal Basin, by the Jefferson Memorial, and across the Mall around the Washington Monument.
Favorite thing: pay homage to President Franklin D Roosevelt who's majestic life-like bronze statue is located here at the FRANKLIN DELANO ROOSEVELT MEMORIAL.
Favorite thing: Cherry blossoms around the Tidal Basin. This is a great walking tour with views one after another of the best monuments.
