Take in the splendour of as many of the historical sites possible. The best I enjoyed was the Lincoln Memorial because of its interfacing of nature with art...its beautiful grounds and water scenery with the colossal statue of Abraham Lincoln, 28th?? president of the United States.
Fondest memory: My visit and stay at Georgetown University. The Univeristy has some of the most magnificent frescos painted in one of its older halls at which special ceremonies are held. It is reminiscent of paintings I have seen of the Sistine Chapel. (But of course, Michaelangelo is in a class of and on his own!)
Favorite thing: We had a tour around D.C. at night when the monuments were lit up. The Lincoln Memorial was one of the nicest ones.
Favorite thing: Another place not to be missed during your visit to Washington is LINCOLN MEMORIAL,and the reflecting pool, also one of most famous monuments in Washington.
Favorite thing: The Lincoln Memorial, which I wasn't able to visit but it looks like it's beautiful on the inside as well.
Favorite thing: Visit the Lincoln Memorial. A giant Abraham Lincoln sits in a chair in a kind of greek-style building. Located at the Mall.
Favorite thing: Take a stroll to the Washington Building. Its very nice. Actually all the areas in D.C. are breathtaking in my opinion.
Favorite thing: Another view of the Lincoln Memorial. The view from the outside does not do justice to the size of the heart of this man.
Fondest memory: And this is the LINCOLN MEMORIAL building located along The Mall. Ah, beautiful!
