friday nights after 11pm at ZANZIBAR
for me, life without african music and dancing is not a life worth living. at zanzibar, you can dance (and sweat) to your heart's content, meet lots of people from all over the world, and hear some of the best music around: african (zaire, congo, etc.) as well as reggae, house, and more.

Dress Code: people here dress to impress but since i'm not that kind of girl, i simply wear my usual black and white...(see my picture)

Zanzibar on the Waterfront (southeast) on Water Street (off of Main Avenue)
Beautiful Club Bar Restaurant right on the Potomac River. Very good music, good food, and nice brunch on sundays. Upscale African AMerican club. On Wendensday nights they play latin music and teach salsa. The crowd is mixed African american, latin, white, Asian, you name it. Eveybody is into salsa. It is salsl all night. On fridays and saturdays they play international music. They sometimes have live musinc on these nights.

Dress Code: Dress casual. No jeans or sneakers (runners)
