DC is an excellent place for you shopholics out there! So I wil list some of the main places I go shopping myslef!

Potomac Mills Mall: Warning: Sudden drooling like a pack of wolves, incresed heart rate and loss of time might be expericned by vistors to the mall due all the bargains to be found at this outlet mall!! You have been warned!

Set up like a enormous, festive warehouse, Potomac Mills is located inconspicuously off I-495.
Take just about every store you love, attach the word 'outlet' to the end of its name, and you have the selection at Potomac Mills. The mall is divided into various 'neighborhoods,' and in Neighborhood 9 there's an eye-boggling, not-to-be-missed IKEA. (Is it time for a Swedish invasion? If IKEA is what the Swedes are bringing, then the answer is a most certainly Yessssssss!

Fashion Centre At Pentagon City: A large four level mall stuffed with trendy fashion stores and palm trees! A trendy mall. If you can't get enough, you can stay at the Ritz Carlton next door!!

Upscale Georgetown is on the intersection of Wisconsin Avenue and M Street. There within these few blocks are stores to suit every taste. If you can't find it in Georgetown, it probably doesn't exist! Georgetown is best avoided on weekends, or you'll risk being trampled by hordes of hip, beer drinking wild youths and eager tourists! Also keep in mind the Metro doesn't stop here, and parking can be very difficult. Aside from that, M Street is home to hip chain stores, such as BCBG and Steve Madden, and boasts Urban Outfitters, a mecca for hipsters. The slightly older set will appreciate Wisconsin's Restoration Hardware, Coach and several antique shops. Artists can pick up a brush or two at The Art Store, and those who favor clunky black footwear will like Shake Your Booty. The Victorian-inspired Shops at Georgetown Park mall houses a great collection of unique shops alongside Polo and Victoria's Secret. If you're limited on time and want to hit lots of stores, Georgetown is the place.

Single women should not miss Dupont Circle, where you will find many very good-looking, unmarried men! (inside joke in DC!) Dupont Circle is hang out for gay guys! Some DC humor for you :)

Eastern Market - get off on the metro stop in the SE of the same name, it's an open-air market with lots of artists and craftsmen selling their work, as well as fresh produce, flowers and spices. There is a flea market as well there. It's really nice - always a very diverse crowd and positively gorgeous artwork (not always cheap though), great food and a really pretty area. You can walk to the Capitol from there through the interesting old architecture of Capitol Hill.

Eastern Market on Capitol Hill--it's a regular farmer's market and you can find beautiful crafts like jewelry and pottery. Also, see the African-American Civil War Memorial on U Street. These heroes are finally getting their due.
