Even butter is special at Blackies!

Wow, what a great meal. Perfect in every way. My compliments to Executive Chef Claude Rodier, Wonderful! I really have no complaints about Blackies. It is top shelf, so sticker shock might be a factor. I used an internet site to book Blackies, called Open Table. It was really easy, and convienient. I was afraid they might treat us differently due to the Open Table booking, however, we got treated like V.I.P.'s. The menue had our NAME printed on it, and was a keepsake of our evening. That is special.
Valet parking, and great service made it one of the best dining experiences of our trip.

Favorite Dish: The Bread basket here is a work of art. Everything is 'over-the-top-good' ! If you like your beef well done, Prime Rib , end cut is yummy. This place has been around for over 50 years, and one can easily see why.

    Blackie's: An Old Favorite, Reborn

Seafood, beef and game served in an old landmark. Blackie's has been family owned and operated since 1946.

It is located in the Marriott Hotel, which was built around the original free standing restaurant.

  • Blackies: Ambience and service

    by FTM2003 Written Oct 7, 2003 1 reviews

Great atmosphere! Original brick, lots of arches and doorways gives a sense of privacy and at the same time the larger rooms give the diner a feeling spaciousness. There is a genuine warmth and style. Above all the service is outstanding! I really found it difficult to classify it, as 'Unique' is appropriate.

Favorite Dish: Prime rib and escargot-fantastic wine list

I dont know if its still there or not, but Blackies House of Beef. They have the best steaks, granted it was years and years ago, but I still remember how tastey it was!
all the famous people that went there and their pictures on the wall, and the giant black angus cow over the door

    Favorite Dish: steak
