We snapped this photo of the White House from the Mall. All of these cyclists were riding for charity (AIDS research, if I remember correctly).

Completed in 1800, the White House, with it's 132 rooms, is home to the President of the United States.

Tours of the White House are still restricted to school and military groups only.

You cannot be in DC without at least going to have a look at the White House! In those days, security was not anywhere near like today's requirements.

Even if you don't get to see inside, it's still exciting to see in person. The White House is an impressive building!

This is a closer view of the oval back porch enjoyed by the Bushes during their stay. You can actually see the chandeliers burning inside.

Queues for the White House tour. Of course, you've to wake up early to catch it. The information center told us that you've to arrive before 7.30am to get the tickets.
