    Juice It: Fresh juice

by artgrad Written Feb 6, 2005

Juice It makes amazingly fresh juice, in such a way that I almost wouldn't call it juice. Without adding anything other than fruits and vegetables, it comes out with a smooth creamy texture. Like a smoothie without all the dairy, sweeteners, and artificial stuff. Be prepared, the fruit is room temperature, therefore the juice will not be as cold as if it came out of a fridge, but I don't find this to be a negative point. And there are so many flavors to choose from. They also have cheap and delicious healthy sandwiches, soups and salads.

Favorite Dish: I got the ABC juice (Apple, beet and carrot), and the avocado sandwich.

    Mallard's: Exotic Ice Cream flavors

by artgrad Written Feb 5, 2005

Mallard's is the best ice cream shop I've been to in my entire life. They make their own flavors from scratch with fresh ingredients. They come up with new flavors all the time, like cardomum, lavendar, and chai. They also serve delicious soups made from scratch, often offering a vegetarian option.

Favorite Dish: In general, they do a really good job with chocolate ice creams, it actually tastes like chocolate, not chocolate's 2nd cousin.

    Boomer's: Old Fashioned Drive-In

by artgrad Updated Feb 5, 2005

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Good old American food, with drive-in service as well as a small indoor seating area and fireplace. Friendly waitstaff. Good variety of burger styles, and a garden burger can be substituted for any order. Unique waffle fries and dozens of shake flavors.

Favorite Dish: Chocolate shake. When I was little I used to get a chocolate shake as a meal. Probably not the best nutrition plan, but I'd say Boomers does a great job with it - not too much chocolate and not too little.

    Old Town Cafe: Organic Breakfast

by artgrad Written Feb 1, 2005

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Laid back, warm atmosphere, and kid friendly. Old Town is great for breakfast and lunch, many of their ingredients coming from local farms. They display local artwork which is for sale, and occasionally have live music. There is a small children's play area if the kids get bored with eating, although the food is delicious.

Favorite Dish: I can't say I have a favorite dish, but I haven't had a bad one yet. Vegan/vegetarian options. Expect a wait on weekend mornings, as this a breakfast hotspot for locals.

    Manila House: Filipino food

    by cvilla007 Written Feb 23, 2004
Me & Al at the Manila House

Believe it or not we found a Filipino restaurant this far in the middle of nowhere. I don't know if this place still exists, but we went in and had adobo, pansit, & lumpia. They didn't have any mango juice or kalamansi, and we didn't order from the menu but had the buffet. It wasn't that great, just average or a bit below compared to other Filipino restaurants I've eaten at in LA & San Francisco, but way out here it was pretty nice to dine in a Filipino restaurant.

Favorite Dish: The buffet - it's limited but still Filipino. They also have fried rice & chinese food on the buffet. Drinks are included.

To name a single favorite is...

    essen die leibe. Zehr Gut!

To name a single favorite is beyond limiting — it is simplistic. A great world, and its many cuisines offer the palate and the traveler many options.
What follows is but a few:
    Italian: D'Anna's
Mexican: The taco truck out on the Guide @ Smith Rd. (approx 15 minutes from downtown)
Steak/German: The Balck Forrest in Everson (approx 20 minutes from town)
    AsianPacific: The Pacific Cafe
Pizza: either Cicchitti's on Holly St. or Rudy's on state. But La Fiamma makes a damn good wood-fired Pizza.
Hamburger: Either Morries on Northside (try the super triple decker) or Wins in Fairhaven.
    ENOUGH!
Follow your whims and if you are blessed you will be if not enlightened, satisfied.

Favorite Dish: Wine, Red wine and copious amounts.

Cafe La Gente: Come by in the summer, the walls roll up.

by sparkwash Written Jan 2, 2004

These people have done a wonderful job of creating a great atmosphere and even better food. Karina has turned the North 1300 block of Cornwall into a streetside gourmet cafe spot. In the summertime, the walls roll up and you can sit in the sun on the stainless tables, right out in the sidewalk.

Favorite Dish: The soup and sandwiches are the best, but the most underrated plate here is the Breakfast sandwiches. Egg, Tomato, and a bunch of magic makes for a wonderful wake-up-call.

To be honest there is no other place that makes pizza like this anywhere nearby...not just Bellingham but at least a county or two...maybe even three. On a warm day most folks will choose to sit outside. The aromas are HEAVEN!!! Simply...relax & enjoy!!!

Favorite Dish: Sofia Pizza ...Tomato sauce, prosciutto, rosemary, red onion, mozzarella and freshly cracked pepper. This is my favorte pizza there... perfect balance of texture & flavor...I'm a rosemary lover too!!!
I love to drink the fresh made rosemary lemonade too...and I will tell you one glass is not enough!!!
Dessert...yummy...Oh-so Ginger Ice Cream Sam'ich-Chewy homemade ginger, ginger, ginger cookies, vanilla ice cream, and covered with warm caramel sauce....this is awesome and makes your taste buds so happy!!! You will need some hot tea or coffee to rinse this down though...ENJOY!!!
