From time to time during the year, various programs are offered in the park. Most of these are aimed at those camping in the park as they are offered in the evening. However, sometimes they are offered during the morning or afternoon - depending on the availability of a ranger or volunteer to present the program.
The program list is usually on a dry-erase board at the camp registration office, located to the left of the entrance to the campground.

The day use area of Brooks Memorial State Park includes a fairly large area of open grass, with several picnic shelters along the far west end of the grass area. There is a small playground located on the south side of the grass field, just past the restroom facilities.
The unfortunate feature of the day use area is that it is located far too close to Highway 97, so that the constant roar of traffic, especially fairly heavy truck traffic, is very close to this area.
