And when you count on your shoes to keep you alive in the mountains it's important to get them fixed properly. Dave Page has been a Fremont institution for decades. He's a prime example of what I like to call Northwest Craftmanship -- a dedication to finding your work and doing it well because it is ultimately an expression of who you are and what values you hold.

If you're visiting Fremont on a bicycle you get a gold star! Bicycling is the best way to get around in North Seattle. But you may need to true a wheel or fix something more serious. Charles at Wright Brothers Cycles is the man for you. Not only is he a traveller and a good mechanic; he also maintains a community repair station where members pay a $30 lifetime fee for access to his bike stands and tools.

Various Works of Art in Fremont Area
Almost directly under the Aurora Avenue bridge, you will find a few artworks, such as this frame on an easel sculpture. This area is connected to the Fremont Canal Park with a bike path.
