Taxis are Available Here
While many visitors bring their cars, there are a certain number that get around using bikes or scooters or other local transportation. Orcas Island does in fact have a taxi service. With visitors being highly seasonal the fact is that there isn't too much to any of the transportation services on the islands. Therefore, reservations are highly recommended.
Seasonal Transit Bus Service (June to Aug.)
There is no true public transit on Orcas Island in the traditional sense, but San Juan Transit does in fact operate a seasonal bus service with reasonable prices. The service operates every day from mid-June to late August / early September (depending on how the months fall). The basic route runs from Orcas (the small community at the ferry terminal) north to EastSound, then south to Rosario and then to Moran State Park.
Fares are $5 for a one way trip, $10 for a round trip, and $15 for an all-day ticket.
