    Public Restrooms, Eastsound

    Public restrooms are not abundant.

Water is scarce here and most restaurants and other businesses restrict their restrooms for customers’ use only. (In fact, restaurants in Olga have latrines rather than indoor plumbing!)

There are four public restrooms on the island.

Public restrooms are available at Eastsound in the building shown in the photo. Open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m, these are located at the village square, beside the historical museum (North Beach Road).

Additional restrooms in Eastsound are available at the public library (87 Rose Street) during the hours it is open (Monday through Thursday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.).

Moran State Park has five restrooms, one of which is disabled accessible.

At Orcas landing, there are public restrooms available at the upper parking lot for the ferry. There is one handicap accessible unisex restroom in the ferry office building, at the bottom of the stairway.

There are ten pubic showers, two of which are disabled accessible, at Moran State Park.

    Winter Hours -- Avoid Disappointment

Off season -- especially winter -- hours may vary dramatically from summer hours. Some businesses close altogether in January and February. Unless you are absolutely sure of the off season hours, it's best to call ahead to confirm.
