The Crab Pot, on the waterfront in Seattle, for sure.
Go for lunch on a sunny day, so you can sit outside on the pier. That salty air aroma, the sights (ships, ferries and tour boats) are all right there, and then you get that food. It's not cheap, but it's a treat you'll never forget.
Favorite Dish: Any one of those where they dump the whole meal on your table. Clam-bake style seafood. Absolutely dy-no-mite.
Palisade Restaurant was recommended to us by a local, and they were right on. Food and service were impicable, tiered flooring gives almost every table a great view of Elliott Bay and the beautiful harbor, and an indoor saltwater fish pond weaves through the lounge area and under a small bridge.
Unforgettable view of the bay, the city skyline and Mt. Rainier
Favorite Dish: Seared tuna with ginger and sticky rice
OUR FAVORITE RESTAURANT IS ALICES IN TENINO, WA. IT IS A OLD HOUSE CONVERTED TO A RETAURANT. THE BEST THING IS 'PEANUT-BUTTER SOUP, AND VINCE THE OWNER.
THE APMOSPHERE IS QUIET AND OUT OF THE WAY, THEY ALSO HAVE A VINEYARD.
Favorite Dish: ALL MAIN ENTREES ARE A '7' COURSE MEAL.
Randy's is one of the most recommended restaurants in Anacortes. The food and service are both very good, and the atmosphere is perfect for experiencing Anacortes. I've always gone at off-peak times so that I could sit at one of the booths right by the window. From this point, I could watch small boats and bigger ships by the waterfront. I've seen seals playing in the water by Randy's small dock, and gulls or herons are often fishing by the dock. Randy's does an okay steak, but in five weeks of dining all around the Anacortes area, I never really found a great steak. Otherwise, everything at Randy's is great. I always had the clam chowder appetizer. I ordered a duck special once, and it was also great. When the crabs are in season, you can't go wrong with crab legs.
Favorite Dish: Dungeness crab legs, clam chowder
If you visit Tacoma you must eat at The Black Angus. It is a little on the $$ side. But the steaks that you get and the meal that comes with it is well worth the money.
The restaraunt has a good family environment and courtious watresses and waiters.
Favorite Dish: The very best on the menu is the T-Bone Steak, with baked potato w/all the trimmings and vegetable salad. It will get you full and make your mouth sing.
This is where to get your chocolate fix in Seattle. They have absolutely divine dishes. You can get chocolate milkshakes (oh, but they are sooo much more than just milkshakes), mousse, truffles, cheesecake, and basically anything with chocolate in it.
Favorite Dish: I like everything with chocolate, and therefore, everything in this restaurant
This is an Italian restaurant. At first, the prices seem expensive, until you realize they're family size! This is a great restaurant with great prices. It is also very well decorated. They have rooms with different themes like wine, and movie stars, and the like. Also, when they take you to your seat, you get to walk right through the kitchen. There are also some FUNNY pictures. This all cumulates into a very very entertaining restaurant.
Favorite Dish: Umm... Everything here is soooo good, I just can't choose my favorite menu item!
BIg Time Brewery4133 University Way - a block from U of Wash (UW)
Great Old Time Bar look -- good food -- Seattles OLDEST Brewpub
Favorite Dish: GOOD Beer, oh and interesting pizza, nachos and sandwiches
In Vancouver, there is a restaurant called Yankee Pot Roast.
The food is absolutely delicious. You will always get full on the amount they give you.
Price, atmosphere, service, everything is great
Favorite Dish: The Pot Roast meal is wonderful. The pot roast practically melts in your mouth. The omelets are wonderful too. Their biscuits are to die for.
All the pubs around Washington. The microbrews are great!
Favorite Dish: My husband loved the salmon. I'm a vegetarian but found plenty of great items on the menus at the various restaurants we tried. Mizuna in Spokane is explicitly a vegetarian restaurant. A bit pricy, but the food is excellent!
Plaza Jalisco in Chehalis, WA is the best Mexican food you'll ever find. Apart from the fabulous food and great prices, you will be treated like royalty, with fast, gracious service.
If you happen by this place on your birthday, make sure they know it. (A special pie in the face is yours)
Favorite Dish: I like all the menu items here--Just choose the special!
In Seattle, 'Fisherman's' right on the waterfront. In Tacoma, 'Harbor Lights'. By the airport, '13 Coins'. In Federal Way, 'Koharu'.
Favorite Dish: At fishermans it's the crab feast, at the 13 coins it's any of their steaks, Harbor Lights it's the sauteed crab claws, and at Koharu it's the Nigiri Sushi.
The spirit of Washington dinner train had to be my favorite!
Favorite Dish: Does this look good? It was! .
They serve "beefaloe" at the country fair. It's a mixure of buffaloe and beef. It has less fat than beef and is very tasty.
