Bring your camera. Seattle plays like a seasoned musician.....
when she's on, she's really ON.
With a little help from Mother Nature in the weather department Seattle and PNW in general can be one of the most gorgeous places in America.
The occasional rain only makes it more beautiful when it stops and the light comes up.

If there is such a thing as reincarnation, I could surely do worse than come back as this little guy in the pic.
For a soundtrack, if you ever get a chance, give a listen to one of my favorite singers, Candy Givens from Zephyr sing the song "High Flyin' Bird" on their album Sunset Ride
(You can hear a little piece of it at the "Sunset Ride" link above ... scroll down and click on "high flying bird")
We all miss you Candy
♫♫ There's a high-flyin' bird, way up in the sky
and I wonder does he look down
as he flies on by
Flyin' so easy... way up in the sky...
Lord look at me here
I'm just rooted like a tree here
Got those sit down, can't cry
Oh Lord gonna' die blues ♫♫

Most of the time Mt. Rainier is hazed/ fogged out or behind low clouds so you can't see it.
Every once in a while things clear up and we get lucky enough to see how huge and potentially powerful it really is.
As people we build these big beautiful cities with all creature comforts and I wonder if (without trying to be all cosmic and sanctimonious) sometimes maybe we forget or overestimate our place in all of this.
(There was no editing of this foto, Mt. Rainier really looks this big & beautiful when it is visible and you are north of the city on the Kingston ferry)
Fondest memory:
In July 2001 my buddy Dwight and I were taking the ferry across the sound from Kingston to Edmonds, when looking south towards Seattle we saw this. Luckily Dwight had his little digital camera with him.
When I see Mt. Rainier like this with Seattle in the foreground it kind of puts things in perspective as to where imho we stand on the power scale with nature.

Here's a view of Puget Sound from the Space Needle.
This body of water is part of the Pacific Ocean stretching inland from the Canadian border to western Washington. It encompasses Seattle, the San Juan Islands and Hood Canal.
Favorite thing:
The best view of Seattle is from a boat.
Fondest memory:
This is me wearing my new coat bought in Alaska. But this day was hot and sunny.
Great view to be had from the boat.
They take your photo when you go aboard.
Favorite thing:
It's great to be so close to the water, and to see it used for transportation so much.
