Not being a big Starbuck's supporter (I find them way over priced), we still couldn't help the nostalgia of actually walking into the original Starbucks for a coffee & a Frapuchino.
I have to admit it was quaint.
Original handwritten signs on chalkboard, items in bins, quaint tables and of course, the faithful patronage of local and tourist fans.
Although it was originally founded in 1971 at Western Avenue, it later moved to 1912 Pike's Place where it remains to this day.
Go and drink a large specialty coffee at a Starbucks or some other coffee establishment.
Fondest memory: When my wife and I were in Seattle (Aug 96) Starbucks wasn't all over America, therefore it was kind of special to go to one and sit and read and drink their coffee. We really were surprised to see so many coffee shops all over the place, there were even little coffee vendors right outside grocery stores.
Favorite thing: have your veritable coffee fix from Starbucks! Oh yes!! In case you didn't know, Seattle is the birthplace of Starbucks (and grunge music, among other things!)! And even though there are Starbucks coffee places in every nook and cranny in this world, it's just one of those must-do activities when in this town! NOT having your Starbucks coffee in Seattle is like not hitting the casinos in Vegas!
hit Starbucks!! Yeah, you can get it virtually everywhere now, but you gotta have it once in the town it originated.
Fondest memory: Drinking hot chocolate(Starbucks, of course!) while watching the fisherman with their catch on the pier outside Pikes Place Market!!
