Jimi Hendrix's grave and memorial site is located outside of Seattle's city limits in Renton, Washington. It's about 20-25 minutes away from Seattle. One of rock's godfathers, Jimi Hendrix rests here in Greenwood Memorial Park along with his father, grandmother and step-mother. The memorial is a beautifully crafted one, with lyrics to some of his songs etched into marble benches, or plaques with his image and quotes on the walls. This was one of my highlights to visit the resting place of one of rock's greatest guitarists and vocalists! A place worth checking out when you have the time. We got here by rental car, so I'm not sure if there's bus lines that come straight from Seattle to here, but there might be. The address is 350 Monroe Avenue NE Renton, WA 98056. It's quite tricky to find, as the streets in Renton are windy and just as bad as Seattle's. Make sure to take a GPS with you!

Probably there is, we did not search this out. But did drive by this statue of Hendricks mounted to the a sidewalk. There are many tributes to individuals here and there throughout the city. It's very cool, you should take the time to see who they are when you see one. Someone left a tulip on this day in Jimmy's mouth.

I can't say I was a Hendrix fan, but I liked some of the music he created. He was too "far out" for me mostly. Hendrix was born in Seattle first with the name Johnny Allen Hendrix which apparently was later changed to James Marshall Hendrix. He was born on November 27, 1942, 2 years to the day after another star, Bruce Lee, who is also buried in Seattle.
Hendrix is buried in Greenwood Memorial Park, Renton, WA (King Country).

This is a bit off the beaten path but if you drive Renton, WA on a clear day, you will have the most specatular view of Mt. Ranier. And while you're there you can visit Jimi Hendrix resting place.

It doesn't get nearly the visitors that Jim Morrison's grave does in Paris but for Hendrix fans it's kind of cool. The day I there, 2 kids (probably just graduated from high school) were hanging out and we got to talking about Hendrix and the impact he had on blues and rock & roll. As I left, one of them yelled out, "Hey mister, you can hang out and get stoned with us if you want to." I politly declined as I had quite a drive back to Seattle but when I got in the car, did I laugh.
