Paseo: Delicious Sandwiches in Fremont
OMG. Get yourself out to Fremont and try a Cuban Roast from Paseo. Do not let the long line scare you off - it is worth the wait.
Melt in your mouth pork slathered in garlic aioli and other ingredients, all served on perfectly toasted bread. The pickled jalapenos add a kick that in my opinion makes the sandwich.

Paseo: Local's Favorite Cuban Food
Paseo is the best Carribean/Cuban lunch and dinner spot in Seattle. When driving by this restaurant you may accidentally pass the hut-like building strewn with Christmas lights. The small building is tucked in and unassuming. There is only enough room to sit at two small bars and outside tables (weather permitting) but it is definitely worth it.
Paseo's meat (choice of chicken, and various types of pork) are succently marinated and served in two ways: dinner entree or huge sandwich. The sandwiches are probably the most popular but the dinners are not to be missed. Large crusty rolls are piled with meat on top of a garlicky aioli and cilantro. The dinners consist of meat, rice and bean, and salad. Trust me you cannot finish this in one sitting. The black beans are cooked with spices that make your mouth water. Vegetarians take heart, my favorite dish is the "Tofu con gusto." The tofu is prepared in their signature spicy red sauce (which is also used seasonally on fish specials) and served with the same dinner sides. Top your meal off with a pop (no one in Seattle calls it soda) and don't forget a free lollipop on the way out.

Paseo Caribbean Restaurant: Yummy Caribbean Sandwiches!
Paseo is in a little "shack" - perhaps similar to what would be in the Caribbean - on Fremont Ave. You order at the counter, and can sit at a stool at the window ledge, or at one of the 4 tables along the sidewalk outside if the weather's nice.
Because they make each sandwich (or meal) individually, it takes a little while to get your order, but it is worth the wait.
Favorite Dish: I had the Midnight Cuban Sandwich. Thruthfully, I went there expecting to get an authentic Cuban pressed sandwich, and while this wasn't what I got, I LOVED my sandwich, just as much.
The bread is maybe a cross between French and sourdough - kind of a hard crust, but not so hard you have to work at biting. And a good flavor, like sourdough.
The Midnight Cuban is slow roasted pork, and it was delicious.
