Safeco Field and Quest Field are the home stadiums of Seattle's major sports franchises, the MLB's Mariners and the NFL's Seahawks.
Safeco Field construction began in 1997 and was completed for the 1999 MLB season. The stadium features a retractable roof to enable baseball in all weather conditions, and it seats 46,600 spectators. Ticket prices for baseball range from $7 for center field bleachers to $55 for the best box seats. The stadium cost over $500 million.
Quest Field sits on the site of the former Kingdome, which was home to both the Seahawks and Mariners until it was imploded in 2000. Quest Field was completed in 2002 and seats nearly 70,000 fans. The total cost of this stadium (which doesn't have a retractable roof) was just $360 million. Ticket prices for NFL games range from $33 to $95 each, and a fixed room covers about 70 percent of the seats, leaving the field open to the elements.

even if you aren't particularly a sports fan, Safeco Field is a great way to enjoy Seattle from April to September...for $7 you can get centerfield bleacher tickets and watch Seattle Mariners Baseball in what is arguably the most beautiful ballpark in the world.. Safeco Field has a retractible roof which is open unless it is raining and allows an incredible view of the south seattle skyline.. even if you dont pay attention to the game, the ballpark is a cool place to walk around and take in the excitement of 45,000 die-hard fans enjoying "America's Favorite Pasttime" .. the food in the stadium is incredible also... there are a lot of stands that you can buy the traditional hot dogs and cracker-jacks from, but also a restaurant called the Hit It Here Cafe that i hear has excellent food... also the local favorite "Ivar's" serves food there and they have great clam chowder among other things.. you can also sample beer from a number of local Microbreweries during the game.. as matter of fact, the Pyramid Brewery Alehouse is right across the street along the west side (3rd baseline) of the field where you can eat and drink beer brewed in-house..

Watching a University of Washington football game, is like watching paint dry. The team is in the phase of rebuilding.
Hopefully the team gets better. The tickets were free, so what the heck. The basketball team is really good though.

Every baseball fan needs to see the Mariners from their outdoor stadium - Safeco Field. One of the best stadiums in all of baseball, there's not a bad seat in the house! From the upper levels, you can see Mount Ranier and the seattle skyline. From the lower levels you feel you are part of the action. Safeco Field still boasts one of the only manually operated scoreboard left in moder stadiums. The bullpen is also an exciting place to watch pitchers warm up through the fence in the main level in left field.
The Mariners made history in 2001 by becoming the winningest team in baseball! Tickets start at just $7 (outfield bleachers) and go up to $50 for infield seats. For tickets try Ticketmaster.

Safeco Field may not have the same history that surrounds some of the country's older ballparks, but maybe history isn't all that it's cracked up to be. Tickets are a bargain, the retractable roof means no getting wet, quality beer is available for imbibing, and the place is generally quite clean. Plus, the Mariners, with a history not much longer than the field's, have quickly become one of the best teams in the country.
Be sure to try the Ichi-Roll! What could be more fun than munching on baseball star Ichiro Suzuki's favorite sushi roll?

Safeco Field is a truly beautfiul baseball park. When it rains the roof moves to protect you, when the sunshines the roof stays open to allow the tanning process to begin. The Mariners may not be the best team to watch, but it's worth going to a game just to see Safeco.

Gotta go and see a Seattle Mariners baseball game while visiting Seattle. This is the so called American Pastime sport so its good to see if you want a feel for American Sports. SAFECO field where the Mariners play is an exceptional stadium with a retractable roof. I myself did not find baseball all that exciting but when you are used to watching ice hockey its hard to watch a sport that is sooooo slow. But I think most people go to the game to drink beer and maybe heckle the players. It cool to cause you can get the cheapest seats for $7 US.

An absolute must see for first timers to USA and baseball. For me it brought to life all the movies and sit-coms I've ever seen and I now understand just how a game can stir the soul.
If you can't get a home game ticket for the Mariners on-line or on the phone, go to SAFECO on the morning of the game and get them at the window but be early.
I had never even seen a baseball game before and found myself sitting next to a local Mariners fan who was, shall we say, somewhat passionate about the game. On noticing that I had no idea of what was going on, she proceeded to explain absolutely everything that was happening, filling me with little tid bits of info on the many and varied customs of the game, both on field and off. This is the stuff, you'd never find in any tourist guide. I came away with an experience and memories I'll always treasure.
I found the atmosphere electrifying and impossible not to get caught up in. Grab some popcorn and a hotdog and throw yourself into the spirit of the game.
For parking, either park further away and grab local transport or pay around $10-15 for a spot in a warehouse. Just take note of the closing times because they are very strict about it.
Even though the day I went, the Mariners lost against the Twins, they gained another fan.

Home of the Seattle Mariner's baseball team. The stadium is fairly new, and every seat in the house has a great view of the game. Mariner's games are interesting and exciting. The food there is overpriced, so eat before you go, or sneak in your own snacks! In the summers the sunsets are visible from the stadium.
