Spokane now has a nice indoor market with a number of vendors selling fresh produce, meats and cheeses, baked goods, crafts, and ready-to-eat treats. Their website has a list of vendors and what they sell.
Parking is available at Second and Browne for $1, but is free with purchase at the Market.
At present, open Thursday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
Note: Sun Dry Goods shares the building, so have a look while you are there. They are also just one block from the frozen yogurt shop I reviewed under restaurants, so I usually go to both places once I'm parked.

While traveling to Spokane, WA there are many places to visit and see. One of the most interesting and historic places to visit is The Flour Mill, located behind the Spokane Arena near Downtown Spokane.
The Flour Mill is a collection of various shops selling all sorts of wonderful things, but the one place I enjoyed the most was Chocolate Apothecary. This unique gourmet chocolate shop had everything! Including rich flavorful drinking chocolates that make my mouth water just thinking about it! They had a ton of novelty chocolate items such as chocolate vitamins and even chocolate bacon!
If you are visiting Spokane, WA anytime soon I definitely suggest checking this place out!
What to buy: Gourmet Chocolates, Novelty Gifts, Drinking Chocolates
What to pay: $10 on average.

The original store is on North Division St., not far from downtown. It was here before I moved to this area 40 years ago. They opened another one in Spokane Valley some years later. They are both stuffed full and jumbled, but fun to poke around in.
They have hunting, fishing & camping gear, and a lot of other things also. There is a large selection of model kits (cars, planes) and some other hobby stuff. I have found everything from kids' board games to dusty souvenirs from Spokane's world fair (35 years ago.)

Boo Radley’s is named after the character in "To Kill A Mockingbird," who collected unusual and sometimes wacky items. It isn’t the usual gift shop. They carry cards, t-shirts, toys, books, and a lot of “different” stuff. You can find everything from a “Fighting Marmots” t-shirt to talking key chains.

Aunties is a really good locally-owned bookstore. They carry both new and used books, and the staff is helpful. Browsing is encouraged—they even provide chairs. The store frequently sponsors readings, book signings, and musical events.

The malls in Spokane are great, but going down to River Front Park and going to some of the stores there is a pretty enjoyable experience. Nordstroms, Banana Republic and Ambercrombie and Fitch aren't in the Northtown Mall so it's well worth the trip downtown to at least browse through these stores.
What to buy: Whatever looks good to you!
What to pay: The stores downtown are a little more expensive so don't shop there if your funds are limited, it will just depress you.

There are many places that you can shop in Spokane: Riverpark Square, Northtown Mall, Spokane Valley Mall, Monroe Street (where there are many antique stores), the downtown area (many independant stores selling many different wares), The Flour Mill, Garland Area, Division Street.
There is something for everyone...you just have to get in a car and explore.
What to buy: There is "Made In Washington" store in Riverpark Square if you want to send/buy relatives Spokane/Washington themed gifts.
What to pay: It depends on your budget and what you are looking for.
