The Spokefest event offers a choice of two routes: The 21-mile route is a loop that covers some of Spokane’s most beautiful riding; the 1-mile loop runs through Riverfront Park and is perfect for families, young riders and those wanting to stay in the urban park. Riders get a t-shirt and a water bottle. After the ride, there will be musical entertainment and a bike rodeo.

Indian Canyon

Indian Canyon was designed in 1930 by H. Chandler Egan and opened for play in 1935. Indian Canyon has been chosen by Golf Digest as one of the top 25 public course in the United States, and it has hosted many major tournaments. Built on a canyon wall with a vertical drop of 240 feet, it offers a unique playing environment.

Downriver

Downriver Golf Course is a layout that can be enjoyed by players of all skill levels. Downriver is one of the oldest golf courses in the Spokane area built in 1916. The golf course is heavily treed and lies along the Spokane River and is bordered by Riverside State Park.
Spokane's golf season is April 15 to Labor Day.

There are three county-owned courses. Two of them are in Liberty Lake, about 15 mi. from downtown Spokane; Hangman is south of town, about 10 miles.

From I-90 take exit #279 and head south onto 195 (Pullman Colfax Highway). Travel south 4.5 miles to Hatch Road. Turn left (east) and go 2 tenths of a mile. Turn right (south) on Hangman Valley Rd. and travel 4.5 miles. The course will be on your right.

Bloomsday is held every May at the very first weekend of this month. It is a 12 k footrace that has both "elite" runners (from all over the world) and the average person walking/running the course.
It draws people from everywhere...and is the kick off to Spokane's Lilac Festival. All runners who complete the course get a t-shirt and it costs very little to enter.

Hoopfest is the largest 3-on-3 street basketball tournament of its kind in the world. It has been an annual event here for 20 years. Over 6,400 teams and 25,000 players compete in Hoopfest, and they come in from 42 states. All ages and skill levels can take part.
It takes over 400 courts to house the 13,000 games. The downtown area is full of basketball hoops for blocks and blocks.
The tournament is held in late June each year.
