You can get to Spokane by car, airplane, bus, or train. However once you are here if you want to get around easily you will need a car. Unless you are here for business and will just need to be in the downtown area. If this is the case there is no need to rent a car, everything you need is downtown Spokane.

Want to get closer to the falls? Take the Gondola; I did not have a chance to ride the Gondola as I ran out of time. The booth to buy the ticket and depart is in the southwest corner of Riverfront Park. The ride is 15 minutes and the capsules are ADA compliant.
The Gondola operates on a somewhat unpredictable schedule for a current schedule click on the link below. The prices are as follows:
$6.00 – Adults
$5.00 – Teens/Seniors
$4.00 – Children 3-12

Spokane International Airport(GEG) is very easy to get around in. It is serviced by ten airlines including Southwest, United, Delta, and Alaska as far as major carriers.
It is the second largest airport in Washington and considered a small hub by the FAA.

A tip about Spokane, their public transit system leaves much to be desired. I highly suggest coming with your own vehicle or renting a car if you wish to get anywhere in a timely fashion. The bus system has had many cut backs over the years, and getting anywhere via STA will take *way* longer then needed.

For the most part traffic isn't too bad, especially compared to some larger cities. It can, however, get stressful if you're not used to driving in a lot of traffic. My words of advice would be to either know where you're going or wait until rush hour is over to try and get there. The general rush hours are between 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

By airplane or by car...there is no best way to get here.
Spokane is a type of place where you stop in it on your way to somewhere else or to visit friends...it is not really a desination place unless you are on a road trip.
It is best to travel by car because it is a very spread out city...there is a bus system but it does not run late into the night.

Depending on where you come from, some of the options are plane to Spokane International Airport, Greyhound Bus, etc.
Car is probably the best method of transportation, but there's also the option of taking the bus. The only problem with the latter is that it's not a late-night line, plus there are a lot of weirdos on them.

We don’t have an ocean, but we have lots of lakes nearby, and a river that runs right through our downtown park. There is plenty here to see and do.
