1. Don't go up in the Space Needle. It's really expensive, and you'll just be looking down at places you'd rather be.
2. The town of Leavenworth was actually redesigned as a tourist trap in the 1940's. There you'll find lots of quaint little shops where they sell cute little gizmoes that have no function and are made in foreign lands. If you must go, take just a little money.
The revolving restauraunt inside the Space Needle is a big tourist trap. It has huge prices and bad food. Jut go to the top of the Space Needle without eating. You'll get the same expierience except with out the terrible food at inflated prices.
The biggest tourist trap is in Seattle...yep, the Space Needle. It makes a pretty picture...and of course, you should go up to the top at least once. (Even that will cost you.) But unless you have more money than you know what to do with...skip the restaurant!
Not all is bad in Leavenworth, but remember to bring your pocketbook. It is a wonderful Bavarian Village recreation, especially nice in winter time with snow capped roofs. Unfortunately a lot of hipe, and advertising, exists in its mists. (Bring your pocketbook.) Possibly not a waste of time, if culture is of interest.
Some may think that Leavenworth is a tourist trap with it's many stores with cheap trinkets and expensive items, but there are many unusual items I have never seen in any of my other travels.
There is a lot of small of the way bread and breakfast...that are expensive smelly....a hole in the wall.....
