Chelan is off the beaten path from Winthrop - it's a few hours drive away down the highway, but a gorgeous drive at that! Chelan's famous for its lake and apple-heritage town. For more info, check out my Chelan page!

Follow the North Cascades Highway (Hwy 20) westbound through the Cascade Mountains. Here's my sister (and her hat!), my Dad and my Mom at Washington Pass, the highest peak on the highway. It's quite amazing. We drove up the highway and decided to stop off at this park which was located at the top of the pass. Little did we know that the park would have such breathtaking views of the sharp peaks of the Cascades! My family is literally standing on a cliff - if there wasn't a wooden fence built into the ground, they wouldn't be standing that close. If you were to look over the wooden fence, the highway would be thousands of feet below!
