The West Virginia University football team is named the Mountaineers. They play at the Mountaineer Field in the Milan Puskar Stadium. It is a fairly modern stadium which holds about 60000 screaming fans. The team is part of the Big East Conference of the NCAA.
Whenever they win a game, the fans sing John Denver's song "Country Roads" (not sure why but it seems to be their tradition).
The team has played in the Sun Bowl, Fiesta Bowl and Sugar Bowl tournament finals.

    Ride Morgantown's Rail Trails

by marca Updated Aug 18, 2003

Morgantown has two connected rail trails. One goes along the river (Caperton Trail)while the other (Decker's Creek Trail) intersects the river trail at about the mid point. Both trails are nicely maintained and are paved within the city limits about 10 miles in total. Outside the city limits the trails are packed cinders. There are a few restaurants and bike shops right on the trail close to downtown. On the trail facilities thin out when leaving the downtown area.

Equipment: I rode both trails on my road bike(the paved sections). A hybrid will be ideal for the unpaved sections.
