Any Local Bar Should Do: Home Grown Fun

Small towns like Harper's Ferry usually have great places for the hard working residents to kick up their heels on a Friday or Saturday night. Home grown partying is the best.Sometimes the locals of such small towns have to go over to the next town to find a drink and that's part of the fun too. Sorry, I didn't stay in town during the evening so don't have a specific place to recommend but if you are staying over, it will be an adventure to check out the places the locals like. All you have to do is ask at the shops or restaurants. Some one will point you in the right direction.

The Towngate Theatre

The Towngate Theatre is operated by the Oglebay Institute and is housed in the former Second Presbyterian Church. It has been putting on live theater productions for over 35 years during which time more than 100,000 people have enjoyed the live performances of this community theater group. The theater company tours regional schools and colleges, conducts a summer Parcel Players program for Ohio Valley high schools and colleges, and encourages the writing of new plays through its Towngate Theatre National Playwriting Contest.The Towngate Cinema is also housed in the Towngate Theatre, and offers films on weekends when there are no live performances.

It's small and dark the way a good bar should be. You can shoot pool or just get to know some new people. It's always a good time Don't even think of dressing up unless you want people to be really suspicious of you.

A: You don't say which bridge--- I'm guessing the New River Bridge. If that is correct, then no, there is no place to stop on the bridge, but there are scenic overlooks...
