Philippi is home of the first land battle of the Civil War.I am not sure what this covered Bridge has to do with that but it is a nice looking ,sturdy, heavy travelled covered Bridge taking you right into the booming downtown area.Of course I am kidding There really isn't a whole lot in downtown Phillipi..which is why I like this town so much.. We actually took a walk through this town .. People are friendly and it was very relaxed..
