Getting around Winfield is best done by private car. The town is right on route US35 which connects to most of the local roads on the south side of the river. To travel south, just get on route 34 or travel east/southeast on route US35 to connect to I-64. Cross the river near Bridge Street and you will get to route 62 which takes you east-west along the north side of the river. Driving around the area is easy, without any one-way signs to bother you and only two speed limits to remember (55mph on the major routes and 35mph on the local roads).

Getting to Winfield has several options. Drive in on route US35 or route 34 (typically from I-64 exits 39 or 44). Boat in on the Kawanha River through the system of river locks. You can dock in at Turtle Cove Marina (about 6 miles away on route 62) (304-586-2442).
St. Albans, 10 miles south on route US35, has a taxi service (YellowTop, 304-727-4447).
You can rent a car in Hurricane (10 miles south on route 34) at Enterprise (304-562-0012).

The nearest commercial airport is way over in Charleston. And that is where the nearest Greyhound station is also.
