Victorias: Unbelievable portions
This is the best Italian restaurant in Appleton. With generous portions and great tasting food for a very good price. You won't leave this place hungry! Plenty of selection and great atmosphere. They have a wonderful item for two called the fantastic seven. You get a bottle of wine, bread, and each person receives an appetiser, salad, soup, a chicken entree, and a delicious dessert. It costs $29.95 for the two of you. Can't beat that deal!
Favorite Dish: Anything and everything. I like variety and this place never disappoints me.

The Copper Rock: Strong coffee
The interior is great. It has a great mix of old world with the brick walls, and modern sophistication with everything else. There is a nice lounge area in the front with a sofa and a few lounge chairs that allow you to look out the large window towards the busy College avenue.
Favorite Dish: The House blend regular coffee. Best coffee in the city. I've haven't ordered their specialty coffees but my friends have and they say they are the best.
Beaners: Another coffee place on College
A good place to hang on the west end of downtown. I stopped here for a coffee while I was waiting to meet my friend Dmitri for lunch at CasaBlanca, which is just across the street.
Not the cheeriest coffeehouse I've ever been to, but at least it's not a chain!
SALTY'S OF FOND DU LAC: Excellent Steaks and Outstanding Seafood
The outside almost reminds one of a Long John Silvers and could be easily missed or dismissed as such. Inside, it is a cozy "dockside" atmosphere with friendly service and a wide variety of dishes. We have NEVER had a bad or even subpar meal here. The place does excellent business so be prepared to wait for a while during peak hours, but it is worth the wait and the drive down to Fond Du Lac.
Most places that specialize in seafood are not as good at preparing steaks. However, this place is near a yacht club and caters to the more discriminating. As a result, even their Prime Rib is superior to many steakhouses in this region.
Favorite Dish: Salty's Supreme Platter. It is a perfect introduction to their seafood if you cannot decide on what to order. A generous sample of raw oysters, Shrimp, snails, steamed mussels, scallops and more. This could easily make a meal for two people or more, but it is a great appetizer if you really want to go all out.
Copper Rock: Excellent Coffee House on College
This is the place to go for well-brewed coffee and baristas who know how to pull. Pleasantly warm atmosphere inside, comfortable tables, wireless access. Locally owned to, unlike that place across the street.
Gingerootz: Asian Fusion close to the highway
I love this place - an Asian-fusion bistro close to the highway (easy-on, easy off for when I'm just passing through) with good service and fresh food. No "chinese restaurant cliches" in the interior - instead, an upscale "casually elegant design" makes eating here a pleasant. A few of my friends from the area have told me that "it's not authentic" - whatever that means in regard Asian food in America - but the important thing is that I think it's good and I like it. Try the Pad Thai or the Orange ginger chicken.
(I've eaten here about half a dozen times - I get to Appleton fairly often, on shopping trips or passing through on my way to Madison or Kansas City.)

Fratello's: Bistro and bar overlooking the Fox River
On an icy December day, my friend Dmitri took me for a nice lunch at Fratello's, just south of downtown Appleton overlooking the Fox River. The restaurant is part of what was once a bustling paper factory, and it enjoys dramatic views over a section of the river that is both broad and tumultuous. Someone with deep pockets poured a million or two into renovating this space, and the results are dramatic and pleasing.
The menu didn't quite live up to the space - it's pretty much a standard American "Upscale bar" menu rather similiar to what you might find at one of the nicer chain restaurants out by the mall. But I would be glad to come back here to Fratello's just to enjoy the ambience and the view!

OLD BAVARIAN: OLD BAVARIAN is outstanding!
It is family owned and a quiet pleasant place to enjoy a leisurely meal. Mostly it features
authentic German cooking from the old country, but there is a nice variety to the menu. Prices are reasonable too for fine dining. They brew a variety of their own beers and those are definitely worht a try.
Favorite Dish: EVERYTHING IS EXCELLENT! I have never had a bad meal there. Try the Gluu-wine
heated on winter nights.
Taste of Thai: Thai Food is unique
Thai cooking has its own unique style and flavors. Much of it is spicy, but there is something for all likes and tastes here. The atmosphere is quiet and somewhat fancy, but prices are quite reasonable.
Favorite Dish: Pad Thai. Your choice of "hotness" and a generous helping of shrimp, chicken, crushed peanuts and spices on noodles and bean sprouts make this a "must try" dish.
However, ALL of their selections are quite tasty.
Appleton has many good...
Appleton has many good restaurants, but my favorite is 'Polly's'.
Relaxed atmosphere. Dress up or come casual.
Favorite Dish: Love the Tuna, Bourbon Steak, Salmon and Shrimp dishes that I've been served. Great Friday fish fry! Try the 'garlic mashed potatoes' with your meal, they are to die for!
Champagne Charlie's: Champagne Charlie's
Great casual atmosphere..plus they have live music some evenings!
Favorite Dish: Great variety of Delicious Cajun Food! Super blackend seafood and steak. Be sure to try the pork chops! Fresh oysters and tasty hush puppies!
Victoria's Italian Cuisine: Tons of great food
This restaurant is amazing!!! Every dish was home made and full of flavor. The portion sizes are huge! And the prices are excellent. There is a deal where you get a bottle of wine, appetizer, soup and salad, any pasta dish and dessert for only $40 for 2 people. We ended up bringing home more food than we ate!
Plus its a great environment - great for date night, and for some unknown reason is never crowded.
Favorite Dish: I always get the gnocchi pistachio and love it every time. My husband got the lasagna and loved it - even the spaghetti sauce it sits in is really rich in flavor. We also got the house Italian dressing on our salad and it had a wonderful complex flavor - nothing like store bought.

This independent restaurant has all the makings of a great place for lunch, dinner and even business meetings! The atmosphere is upscale industrial, the flavors truely East Coast with the Boar's Head Meats and service like it should be, quick, casual and heartfelt. These people know how to treat their quests. Flavorful sandwiches, hearty portions and colorful chatter.

Lombardis: Experience the Packers legend
I've never eaten here because it is out of my price range but I thought you might want to try it out if you're in town. I know that it is a very prestigious restaurant due to the legend of Lombardi.
