Coloma Restaurants

Outstanding Chicago Style Deep Dish Pizza is avaliable at the bar. Friendly, courteous wait staff.

Kareoke is on tap after 9:00 on Friday and Saturday nights. (Kareoke is a Japanese word that translates to ' Westerners singing badly'). They have a 3000+ song list so you're sure to find at least a few songs that you know. There's no need to be afraid or embarassed because EVERYONE gets a round of applause after their song.

Favorite Dish: Prime Rib (Saturday Night Special) The best I've ever had - coast to coast, bar none.

2nd Best is the Grilled Prime Rib on Sunday. Pork Medalions, Salmon Crowns, Steak Lavore and Shrimp Lavore are excellent choices, too.

Plus there is always something new to try - the owners refuse to get in a rut serving the same menu items - there is an open spot on the menu for a new appetizer, entre' or desert.

Coloma Nightlife

    #1 Lavore's On The Hill

    #2 The Refuge

    #3 Bulldog Supper Club
#1 Lavore's - Best Kareoke song book in the area

#2 Refuge - Best Jukebox in the area

#3 Bulldog - Some 'locals' and vacationers like it there.

Dress Code: Refuge has no dress code. It's a small town bar so blue jeans are fine, not a child friendly place after 9:00pm.

Lavore's and Bulldog are casual to dressy casual to formal - whatever you prefer. Both are child friendly all the time.

Coloma What to Pack

  • by MS51 Written Oct 5, 2002

Luggage and bags: Bring what you need for your particular type of interest.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Dress appropriately for your season and interest

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: The usual.

Photo Equipment: Be sure to bring your camera - or get a disposable one at the gas station.

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Pleasant Lake, because of it's crystal clear water, is an excellent place to skin dive ... visability is amazing.

Coloma Off The Beaten Path

  • by MS51 Written Oct 5, 2002

If you're into rock climbing, a small outcroping is just south of Coloma. About 2 miles south of Coloma on I-39, you'll come to a Rest Area.

As you look at the rest area building from the parking lot, walk around the right side of the building and follow the path into the woods behind it. About 50 yards into the woods is wher you'll find the outcrop. It's not a difficult climb, but it is a diversion. You'll probably be all alone - not many people know about it.

Coloma Favorites

Favorite thing: plan a day at Pleasant Lake. It's 4 miles southwest of 'downtown' and boasts some of the cleanest, clearest fishing and skiiing waters in the state.

Fondest memory: About 3 years ago, one of the 'locals' introduced me to a person - another 'local' - and that person is the one I've been searching for all of my life - my soulmate.
