A wonderful place for the kids to play! I used to play here when I was young, and I have so many fond memories of it. There are plenty of swings, slides, crawl tubes, monkey bars, and much more to keep the kids entertained. It's usually pretty crowded here too. The zoo is just a walk away, and it's FREE for everyone! Come have an afternoon of fun at Myrick Park and the zoo!

This is a very nice little park in La Crosse. You can sit and watch the boats and barges go by on the Mississippi river. College students enjoy comming here on nice spring days and study for their finals.
City park located by following Main Street east which becomes Bliss Road as you ascend the bluff. At the top, the entrance is found by turning right on Grandad Bluff Road. The 600-ft high bluff overlooks the city of La Crosse. The view of the Mississippi River Valley includes the three states of Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa. Wisconsin Trails readers voted this "the most scenic view in the state". Features a shelter house, coin-operated binoculars, picnic areas and is the site of the annual Skyrocker`s New Year`s Eve Fireworks Show.

My dorm was right next to the park. It has a great little FREE zoo and very nice hiking trails throught the swamp. They spray for bugs so although it is near a huge swamp there aren't many bugs. Also has a huge play area for kids.
The present day zoo has many outdoor exhibits which include monkeys, bears, foxes, deer, bobcats, sheep, goats, prairie dogs, turkeys, peacocks, and a variety of other birds. The indoor facility has rabbits, chinchillas, and snakes.

Helpfulness
The most scenic part of La Crosse is the Bluffs, carved 100's of 1,000's of years ago by the Missippi river--But another beautiful, yet often overlooked part of La Crosse is the marsh land. A slowly diminishing part of the area because of the over-development, but beautiful none the less.
