Wisconsin and Beer - they make quite a team. The Bodega Brew Pub is a great place to observe La Crossians in their natural habitat. It's a cozy little place - not much to look at on the outside, but with an authenticity that money can't buy. The Bodega has a breathtaking selection of regional, national, and international bottled beers - 200 or more - but when I was passing through La Crosse in the summer of 1998 I just had time for one, so I tried one Bodega's own, their Downtown Brown. It was so good that I wrote about it in my journal!
The food I think is ok but that is not why it is so popular. Most college students in town stop by for the nightly walk up service. Starting at 8pm and going all night long you can go up and get fresh doughnuts. A great way to end a night out on the town.
Mr D's is not only known by college students. It is known counrty wide. Before President George Bush's trip to LaCrosse the Apple Fritters were enjoyed by the Secret Service and upon his arrival a special order for a Fritter was put in for the President. The resuaruant also had been the site of news brodcasts such as CNN Live and Nightline.
Favorite Dish: My favorite is the M&M dougnuts.
This is a great little restaurant to eat at. The atmosphere is very home like, friendly staff and the owner is also very friendly. They have a great selection of wine and local beers.
Favorite Dish: I havn't had a bad one yet. I like them all!!!
