Visit the "In Town" Beach
One of the real delights of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, is, what I call, "The In-Town beach". It's really called Lake Geneva Beach. It opens on Memorial Day and stays open until the end of Labor Day. This beach is open from 9:00 a.m. through 6:00 p.m.
One good point about Lake Geneva Beach is that children under six are admitted FREE
Children from six years to twelve years cost $3.00. Over sixteen years of age, the cost is $6.00.
Season passes are available
This beach is located right in the center of town. It's a long stretch of sand and water that is next to the Riviera Pier There is a Bathouse with showers for the convenience of the patrons. The lifeguards are on duty from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Both Mickey and I were quite impressed with the crystal clear water. It's obvious that the town and community take good care of Lake Geneva Beach.
It's important to note that no food is allowed; no glass is allowed; no floating devices are permitted. This keeps a much cleaner and safer beach for all.
Although it is a narrow beach, it is quite long. The day that we were there, the beach was rather crowded but not jam-packed. I tell you that the water and sand both appeared clean and quite inviting.

Take a Boat Tour of Lake Geneva
here are many places in Lake Geneva to rent a boat or to take a boat tour. I'm familiar with the boats docked at the Riviera Dock in downtown Lake Geneva. These boats run day and night, and they offer guided tours of the entire lake where you learn to wonderful history behind the stately mansions located around the lakefront.
Long ago, I took a tour on The Lady of the Lake where I learned about the Wrigley Mansion [Wrigley chewing gum folks], the Ward Mansion [Montgomery Ward Department Store fame], and the oldest mansion on Lake Geneva, the historic Black Point Estate. Many of these wealthy people built this summer mansions to enjoy the cool breezes of Lake Geneva and to avoid the humidity of Chicago. There were many more, but these are the three that I remember to this day.
You may also wish to take The Walworth U.S. Mailboat Tour, which is truly unique. On this tour, you actually witness the mail being delivered in person from boat to home while the boat is moving. It's amazing!
There are so many choices, depending on your interests. But, give it a try because it's relaxing, historic, and a real educational experience.
