Jefferson County, located halfway between Milwaukee and Madison, has a bike trail called the Glacial Drumlin Trail. It is a flat gravel trail that runs from the city of Waukesha to Madison and it is an easy and beautiful ride. Stop in the city of Lake Mills and pick up the trail there. Headed East or West, you can't loose. Heading West does take you over a lake and past a bison farm--very cool!

Take a train to see the other side of the tracks

I always am interested to see the backyards of American cities as viewed from the train. We tend to put our best faces towards the roads and hughways, but from the rear you can see the true America.

I stayed in a small city called Kenosha, about an hour or so from Milwaukee, WI and had a blast! The scenery is beautiful, and the colors made for especially stunning photography.

This secret beach is located in Door county on Lake Michigan. I thought it would make a nice contrast to all of those winter scenes.

Wisconsin is a great place to see beautiful fall colors. The lakes and sky look more blue than ever when contrasting with the colorful forests.

    Wear Orange!

by inthegarden Written Nov 13, 2003

When you walk in the woods in November wear orange. The dear hunters are out so wearing orange so they can see you is a good idea.
